Up the North Shore and over in Upper Michigan in the Keweenaw is where the snow still remains. But it's going fast. Today Houghton/Hancock had 7 inches of heavy wet snow but was melting quickly. NOAA provides the snow cover graphics. Click on the picture.

Cool map...I always look at just the Minnesota maps, but this shows the whole western Lake.
I like most guys love maps! I really enjoy the U.P and Keweenaw County, the finger that goes way up into the lake. Incredible scenery over there as well. They get some serious snow and weather just like the North Shore. Also some gales that knock out the power to the tip for hours. Last summer Copper Harbor was out of power for quite a few hours after such a big blow.
There's a finger that goes way up into the lake?
Thats a big finger!
